Dehydrated Ghost Peppers

This is my first shot at pixel shift. I could try and explain this in detail, but WIKI would do that clearly and more accurately. Basically, what happens is with the use of a verrrrrrrry sturdy tripod and my Sonys pixel shift feature, the camera takes a series of four photos. The camera shifts the image sensor by one pixel between each shot using pixels that would have otherwise been wasted. For red and blue, you get 40% more information, and for green, you get 20% more. This can result in a sharper image.

In this image, I shoot ghost peppers I have dehydrated and are a beautiful range of reds and oranges. Shot in a metal bowl on a black stone countertop, the effect of the pixel shift red is wow. You can see a higher quality version on my web site.
