MomoFood is happy to announce that this year our popular Essential Oil based Flea Tick & Mosquito Control will be available in an organic version. Made from an organic blend of organic citronella, cedar, lemongrass, and eucalyptus essential oils.

This blend is absolutely effective at keeping flea’s tick’s and mosquitos away from your furry friend. To use simply add 4 or 5 drops of the oil blend to 300 ml of water and place in a spray bottle. When you want to go out with your dog give them a quick mist of the water/oil blend. This oil blend will also work if used in an essential oil defuser to keep pest out of a room or patio. Spray the water/oil blend on couches, beds, or any where else you want to clear of fleas, ticks, or mosquitos. Add 10 to 20 drops of oil to your dog shampoo to make it natural flea shampoo.

As with all MomoFood products we make this ourselves and do not simply resell and relabel it as our own. Check it out here.

Finally, a dream for more than a couple of years now has come true. MomoFood has made the switch to 100% Biodegradable Cellulose Packaging! This packaging is used for all dehydrated treats except for beef tendons and pig ears when they are to large. We are working on fixing that. In the case of treat orders 150 grams and 454 grams they will come in few bags that will total that weight. MomoFood raw meals of less than 250 grams will also be packaged in the cellulose bags.

We are very excited by all this! This packaging is awesome! Cellulose packaging is made from plant material and in the case of our packaging is made from non-rainforest tree farming. 100% Biodegradable these bags are found to degrade within 10 to 30 days when buried. When thrown in the trash they break down quickly. On the shelf the bags are good for 6 months. Compare any of that with plastics and you can understand why we are so excited to have made the switch to this packaging.

Soon we hope to start worm composting of all organics. Already we have switched all lights to cfl bulbs and recycle recyclables. At MomoFood we make Natural Dog and Cat Raw Food and Treats, and we do it Naturally.

Oh My! The return pump on my sump has died. For those not into reef tanks a sump is another tank of water normally with a few sections that is plumed to the main display tank and is where most of the equipment would be kept so as to keep the main tank clutter free. It also gives more water volume to the tank making it more stable and healthy for the coral and fish. My sump has three sections, a refugium – skimmer other equipment – return pump area. Water enters the sump on one end, the refugium, passed through the skimmer section, bubble trap, return pump & back up to the tank. The last part of this is now off the rails and so the sump sits sadly behind the tank.

Now I need to run off to the reef store and buy a new return pump to get things back on track. Having a sump makes a tank much it much more stable. Very important on a reef.
