West End Apartment Sizes and Wii

We live in a typical West End three story walk up building. For Vancouver our apartment is a pretty decent size, I’m guessing a little over 650 sq feet. The average apartment size in Vancouver is now 500 or less. City council has now approved further sub dividing of apartments to very small apartments within an apartment. Something about students…..
This is not necessarily a new phenomenon. I can remember when Mo and I were looking for a new apartment about 10 years ago. We went to see this place on Drake and Granville streets, a junior one bedroom. I wasn’t sure what that was going in and once we saw a bachelor with a literally closet sized room we quickly realized what “junior” was. Also know as once bedroom priced bachelor suit.
Anyway…… Even in this space there is not lots of room. Good enough for us but not for us plus wii. In the coming days we are planning on getting a wii. The plan is that we don’t have gym memberships and even though we walk most every day for an hour or so and I bike literally everywhere, often 20 km or more a day no matter the weather. But still really good exercise is needed.
I have played wii games a few times at friends houses. It never fails, day after arm and shoulder are sore. Not in a bad karpaltunnel way but in the just back from the gym way. If you have not experienced the wii try it they are amazing! Real exercise from a home gaming unit. The wii plus wii fit plus is the plan for getting the Momos in shape.
If Al Gore can get a Nobel Peace Prize for releasing a now forgotten film and not a whole lot more that I can tell how about a Nobel for the inventors of a video game system that gets people of all ages and fitness levels engaged in exercise in a great fun way and actually positively affecting the health of so many of those people.
